Lake Leelanau, on the Leelanau Peninsula near Traverse City, Michigan, runs 21 miles through the middle of the Leelanau Peninsula. The water narrows for about one mile near Fountain Point, which is an historic and scenic landmark, as well as a popular summer resort.
